You’ve seen the cats, the dogs and the horses...Now here comes Rip Van Winkle! As a painted statue we’re sure he’ll be a site to see in and around the mountaintop communities.

Thank you for visiting our site. As a cooperative effort the mountaintop community’s non-profit organizations are joining forces for a common purpose. To drive a newfound interest to the area in the form of Rip Van Winkle statues. Interested? So were we!

There are many towns that have decided to involve themselves in a growing trend of having local artists paint a theme for open display with the ultimate purpose of putting them up for auction. Our neighboring communities have revolved this trend around cats, dogs and horses among others. We’ve decided on Rip Van Winkle due to the Catskill’s rich history. After all Rip Van Winkle did sleep in our backyard!
